4Review  Mar 17, 2006 By J. Hyder
The atomic function makes this about as accurate as a watch can be. The other functions work okay. Solar energy is nice - never need to worry about a battery. World time is a waste. There are better stop watch functions out there if that is important to you - it is not to me. Coolest feature may be that it automatically illuminates at night when you turn your wrist to look at the time.

This is a HUGE watch. Sits high on the wrist - many long sleeve shirts will not button with this watch on.

3difficult to make out the time at night  Feb 22, 2006 By steve42
Sync with the atomic clock is great as is the solar charged battery but #1 drawback of this watch is that it's difficult to read at night. The light comes from 9 & 3 o'clock, not a back light. The minute & hour hands are difficult to make out on the busy surface even on the longer light setting of 3 seconds while the small digital display window remains completely in the dark. Also this unfortunately has only one daily alarm.

4Versatile Watch with Good Looks  Mar 08, 2006 By Mathew Cross
Versatile Watch with Good Looks

The GShock GW1500A-1AV is a versatile watch with rugged good looks. I love the Digi/Analog feature combined with the solar power and atomic timekeeping. The one detractor would be the luminescence on the analog hands. They describe the LED light with after-glow (the hands), but without a stronger light there is little "glow" to the hands.
Over all, a very good watch.

4G-Shock  Apr 18, 2008 By M Kiss
I purchased my first G-Shock because I was impressed with the Casio Gz-One cell phones. I used to stay away from Casio until my employer issued me the military grade phone. I used to associate Casio with a cheaper grade of electronics. Not anymore. I am very impressed.

Excellent watch looks good, fairly easy to set and operate. Once you set it up, you should never have to set the time again. The face is a bit hard to read at times, especially in low light situations. The LEDs don't light up the watch face all that well. But ironically, I do use the light to find my way around in the dark (it's just bright enough that you wont hit the coffee table in the middle of the night).

The auto light feature comes in handy. At times it can be a distraction. It's easy to turn this feature off with one button.

The only suggestion I have to someone purchasing this watch is to place it in the sunlight for a bit to fully charge the battery. There is no telling how long it's been boxed up and away from its power source (the sun). I work inside in a windowless office and have never had an issue with the watch being solar.

Excellent watch, tough as nails and looks much better in person than I expected. Good buy.

4Nice Watch  Mar 13, 2006 By K. Desch
Pros:
- solar power and Atomic time-keeping
- tough and water proof to 200m
- comfortable band

Cons:
- Face a bit hard to read. could just be me.
- I wish the watch had a count down timer, in addition to the stopwatch
